What Platechat collects

Platechat does not require an account and does not ask for your email address. Messages, nicknames, plate jurisdictions, and plate numbers are public.

Anonymous browser identity

Your browser stores a random identifier so you can delete your own messages. The server stores only a salted one-way hash of that identifier. Clearing site data removes your ability to prove ownership.

Traffic analytics and ad measurement

We use Microsoft Azure Application Insights to measure page views, broad usage patterns, performance, and errors. Analytics cookies are disabled. We also use Google Ads Consent Mode for limited cookieless campaign measurement. Advertising storage, analytics storage, ad user data, and ad personalization remain disabled. These services receive technical request information, but we do not attach plate numbers, message text, nicknames, or the browser identity used for message ownership to measurement events.

Moderation

Messages are checked for harmful content and may be reported to an administrator. Reports are retained for moderation and abuse prevention.
